No. 10 seed Johanna Konta captured the biggest title of her career on Saturday at the Miami Open in Key Biscayne, Florida, defeating No. 12 seed Caroline Wozniacki 6-4, 6-3. Needing one hour and 36 minutes to seal her victory, Konta struck five aces, won 66 percent of her first serve points and broke Wozniacki’s serve on six occasions. Improving to 2-0 against Wozniacki in lifetime meetings, Konta also pocketed $1,175,505 in prize money for her efforts. The Brit also captured the title in Sydney, Australia to start the year.
Wozniacki, who was in search of her first title in 2017, also fell in the finals of Dubai and Doha earlier this season.
