Rolex Shanghai Masters—Shanghai, China
Thursday’s action at the Rolex Shanghai Masters featured No. 16 seed Hubert Hurkacz and No. 26 seed Sebastian Korda reaching the semifinals.
First up, Hurkacz needed three sets to defeat Fabian Marozsan. The Pole struck 18 aces and won 82 percent of his first serve points during the one hour and 43 minute match.
Hurkacz will next face No. 26 seed Sebastian Korda. The American needed two hours and 55 minutes to edge by his countryman Ben Shelton. Korda overcame 17 aces to reach the final four.
Korda and Hurkacz have met previously on two occasions with each player winning once.
Korda recently made the finals in Astana, Kazakhstan.
Friday’s quarterfinal matches in Shanghai will be highlighted by No. 18 seed Grigor Dimitrov taking on No. 22 seed Nicolas Jarry and No. 5 seed Andrey Rublev will face Ugo Humbert.
