  1. It’s highly debatable whether, when Djokovic was dominating the sport, that Federer was in his prime. It is easy to forget that Federer is not from the same generation as Djokovic and Nadal. In my opinion, Djokovic was supposed to beat Federer, when he was at top, because Federer is 6 years older. I guess we could give credit to Federer for keeping up with Djokovic (if I’m not mistaken, one year Federer was the only player to beat Djokovic three times) but I think we could marvel at Djokovic’s ability to beat and surpass Nadal in his prime, a player who is actually in his generation and who was the dominant player at the time.

    Very well said. Always tough to compare players that are not the same age etc. Let’s see how the grass-court season unfolds when everyone is back playing. Cheers.
