GERRY WEBER OPEN—Halle, Germany

Tommy Haas, 34, captured his 13th career ATP World Tour title on Sunday on his home turf in Halle, Germany, defeating No. 2 seed Roger Federer 7-6(5), 6-4. Haas, who’s been hampered by injuries throughout his career, is currently ranked No. 87 in the world but is projected to hit No. 51 on the computer on Monday.

For Federer, the loss prevented him from capturing his fifth title of the season and his 75th title overall.

AEGON CHAMPIONSHIPS—London, Great Britain

Croatian Marin Cilic won his seventh career title after Argentine David Nalbandian was defaulted after leading 7-6(3), 4-3.

Nalbandian, who has never won a grass-court title, kicked a sponsor sign in front of the baseline judge after missing a forehand, which then hit the judge’s leg. Nalbandian will lose all of his prize money and ranking points from reaching the finals.

Cilic, who is currently ranked No. 25 in the world, will move up to No. 18 in the world on Monday.

The video below depicts the incident which defaulted Nalbandian.
