Caroline Garcia won the biggest title of her career on Monday in Forth Worth, Texas, defeating Aryna Sabalenka 7-6(4), 6-4 to capture the WTA Finals.
Needing one hour and 41 minutes to prevail, Garcia struck 11 aces, won 79 percent of her first serve points and broke serve on one occasions.
Producing her best season to date, Garcia will be ranked No. 4 in the world to finish the 2022 season. The 29-year-old also captured titles in Cincinnati, Ohio, Warsaw, Poland and Bad Homburg, Germany earlier this year.
Sabalenka, who was in search of her 11th career title, finished the year ranked No. 5 after her finals performance in Texas. The 24-year-old defeated Iga Swiatek, Maria Sakkari, Ons Jabeur and Jessica Pegula earlier in the event.
