Nitto ATP Finals—Turin, Italy
World No. 1 Novak Djokovic won his seventh ATP Finals title in Turin, Italy on Sunday, defeating local favourite Jannik Sinner 6-3, 6-3.
Needing one hour and 43 minutes to prevail, Djokovic used his experience and all-court game to overcome his younger opponent.
Striking 13 aces, winning 91 percent of his first serve points, breaking serve on three occasions and striking 20 winners, Djokovic improved to 4-1 against Sinner in lifetime meetings.
Capping off an incredible year on Tour, Djokovic ends 2023 with three Major titles, a finals appearance at Wimbledon and the title in Turin. The 36-year-old also owns 98 career titles, seven of which were collected this year.
The Serb is not done yet for the year as he will now head to Malaga, Spain to aid his country toward a Davis Cup title.
Sinner, who had entered the finals with a 4-0 record, defeated Djokovic earlier in the event.
The 22-year-old will end the season ranked No. 4.
