Djokovic Wins in Geneva on his 37th Birthday
World No. 1 and 24-time Major winner Novak Djokovic advanced to the quarterfinals of the Geneva Open on Wednesday, defeating Yannick Hanfmann 6-3, 6-3.
Turning 37 today, Djokovic slammed three aces, won 71 percent of his first serve points, and broke the serve of his opponent on four occasions. Winning his 1,100 career singles match, the Serb will next face either Denis Shapovalov or Tallon Griekspoor for a place in the semifinals.
Djokovic, who has yet to win a title in 2024, enters next week’s French Open as the defending champion.
Nadal, Sinner and Alcaraz Practicing at Roland Garros
14-time time French Open winner Rafael Nadal continues to practice on the grounds of his most successful event.
