Rolex Shanghai Masters—Shanghai, China
No. 2 seed Novak Djokovic continued his stellar play during the second half of the season on Sunday, claiming his fourth Rolex Shanghai Masters title over Borna Coric, 6-3, 6-4.
Never losing his serve throughout the tournament, Djokovic struck seven aces, won 91 percent of his first serve points, 70 percent of his second serve points and broke serve on two occasions during the one hour and 35 minute contest. Improving to 3-0 against Coric in lifetime meetings, Djokovic captured his fourth title of 2018.
Aiming to finish No. 1 in the world over the next month, Djokovic stands in commanding position to once again claim the top spot in the rankings. The Serb has zero points to defend until the end of the year.
Coric, who was in search of his first Masters 1000 title and third of his career, defeated top seed Roger Federer in the semifinals.
