World No. 1 Novak Djokovic completed his French Open preparation on Saturday in Belgrade, Serbia, defeating qualifier Alex Molcan 6-4, 6-3 to capture his 83rd career title.
Needing one hour and 28 minutes to claim his victory, Djokovic hit two aces, won 70 percent of his first serve points and broke serve on six occasions. Never facing his opponent before, Djokovic will now head into Roland Garros with his eyes on his 19th career Grand Slam title.
Molcan, who was playing in his first career title, entered the week ranked No. 255 in the world. The 23-year-old defeated Fernando Verdasco earlier in the event.

American youngster Sebastien Korda captured his maiden ATP Tour title on Saturday in Parma, Italy, dismissing Marco Cecchinato 6-2, 6-4. Playing the home-country favourite, Korda struck six aces and won 82 percent of his first serve points during the one hour and 15 minute affair.
Playing his opponent for the first time, Korda will move up to a career high of No. 50 in the world when Monday’s rankings are released.
Cecchinato, who was in search of his fourth career title, dispatched Jaume Munar in the semifinals.
