Monday’s action at the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters featured No. 9 seed Grigor Dimitrov and two-time winner Stefanos Tsitsipas both advancing to the round of 32.
Dimitrov ousted Valentin Vacherot 7-5, 6-2 and Tsitsipas dismissed Laslo Djere 6-3 3-2 retired.
Elsewhere, Felix Auger-Aliassime picked up a much-needed victory, and Frenchman Arthur Fils dispatched Yannick Hanfmann 6-0, 6-2.
Tuesday’s schedule of play in Monaco will be highlighted by top seed Novak Djokovic, No.4 seed Alexander Zverev and three-time former Major winner Stan Wawrinka.
