De Minaur Reaches Rotterdam Semifinals; Bencic Advances to Abu Dhabi Final
Friday’s action at the ABN AMRO Open in the Netherlands saw No. 3 seed Alex de Minaur advance to the semifinals, defeating Daniel Altmaier 6-1, 6-4.
De Minaur, who is currently ranked No. 8 in the world, won 77 percent of his first serve points and broke serve on four occasions.
Continuing to be one of the most consistent players on Tour, De Minaur will next face Mattia Bellucci for a place in the finals.
Bellucci continued his dream run at the event by following up his victory over Daniil Medvedev by defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-4, 6-2.
De Minaur and Bellucci have never played on Tour.
Matches that are still to come on Friday will include top seed Carlos Alcaraz vs. Pedro Martinez, and No. 4 seed Andrey Rublev going up against No. 8 seed Hubert Hurkacz.

Friday’s semifinals at the Abu Dhabi Open in the United Arab Emirates saw former world No. 4 Belinda Bencic defeat top seed Elena Rybakina 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.
Needing two hours and six minutes to advance, Bencic struck two aces, won 75 percent of her first serve points and broke serve on four occasions.
The Swiss star will next face American Ashlyn Krueger in Saturday’s final. Krueger took out Linda Noskova from the Czech Republic 7-6(2), 6-4.
Bencic will be aiming for her ninth career title and Krueger will be looking for title number two.

Transylvania Open—Cluj-Napoca, Romania
Top seed Anastasia Potapova advanced to the semifinals of the Transylvania Open in Cluj-Napoca, Romania on Friday, defeating Ella Seidel from Germany 6-2, 6-3.
Potapova, who is currently ranked No. 32 in the world, will next face Aliaksandra Sasnovich, who defeated No. 4 seed Anhelina Kalinina 2-6, 6-4, 7-6(3).
Other results on the day saw No. 5 seed Katerina Siniakova oust Viktoriya Tomova from Bulgaria 6-3, 7-6(7).
Matches that are still on deck on Friday will feature No. 7 seed Elisabetta Cocciaretto from Italy taking on countrywoman Lucia Bronzetti.
