Cobolli Wins Maiden Title at 2025 Bucharest Open
Sunday’s ATP Tour and WTA Results
No. 3 seed Flavio Cobolli captured his maiden ATP Tour title on Sunday at the Tiriac Open presented by UniCredit Bank in Bucharest, Romania, defeating top seed and clay-court wizard Sebastian Baez 6-4, 6-4.
Needing one hour and 46 minutes to seal his victory, Cobolli struck three aces, won 74 percent of his first serve points and broke his opponent on four occasions. Adding 16 winners to his victory, the 22-year-old from Italy will move up to No. 36 in the world when the latest rankings are released.
Baez, who was playing in his third final of the season, won the title in Rio de Janeiro, and lost in the finals in Santiago, Chile.
Baez will be ranked No. 33 in the world on Monday.

Grand Prix Hassan II—Marrakech, Morocco
Sunday’s final in Marrakech, Morocco will feature top seed Tallon Griekspoor taking on No. 7 seed Luciano Darderi from Italy.
Griekspoor, who has started this season in great form, will look to claim his third straight victory and title over Darderi.
Currently ranked No. 37 in the world, Griekspoor already has victories over Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev and Matteo Berretini this season.
Darderi will be vying for his second career title today. He previously captured the crown in Cordoba, Argentina in 2024.

Tiafoe Goes for Second Houston Title
No. 2 seed Frances Tiafoe will aim to win his second career title at the Fayez Sarofim & Co. U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championship in Houston, Texas on Sunday, taking on fellow American and qualifier Jenson Brooksby.
Taking out No. 4 seed Brandon Nakashima in straight sets in the semifinals, Tiafoe will look for his first victory against Brooksby in three meetings.
Tiafoe had previously lost to Brooksby in Washington, D.C. and Atlanta, Georgia.
Brooksby, who currently ranked No. 221 in the world, defeated top seed Tommy Paul 7-6(5), 3-6, 7-6(6) in a rain-delayed semifinal on Saturday.

Pegula Takes on Kenin for Charleston Title
Top seed Jessica Pegula will face former Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin on Sunday in the finals of the Credit One Charleston Open in Charleston, South Carolina.
Pegula, who will return to world No. 3 with a victory, has proven to be one of the most consistent players in the world.
The 31-year-old holds a 3-2 head-to-head series lead over Kenin. Pegula will be aiming for her eighth career title and second of the year. She defeated defending champion Danielle Collins and No. 9 seed Ekaterina Alexandrova from Russia en-route the finals.
Kenin’s impressive road to the final has included victories over No. 5 seed Daria Kasatkina, No. 8 seed Amanda Anisimova., No. 14 seed Anna Kalinskaya, and No. 17 seed Belinda Bencic.
Kenin is currently ranked No. 34 in the world.

Bogota, Colombia Sunday Preview
Defending champion and No. 2 seed Camila Osorio will be going for her second title at Copa Colsanitas Zurich presentado por VISA in Bogota, Colombia on Sunday, facing Katarzyna Kawa from Poland.
Osorio, who owns two career titles, has never played her opponent on Sunday. Osorio ousted Julia Riera from Argentina in the semifinals, and Kawa defeated Julieta Pareja from the United States.
Kawa has never won a singles title on Tour. She was ranked as high as No. 64 in the world in October 2022.
