Italian star Matteo Berrettini defeated Canadian upstart Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-4, 7-6(11) on Sunday in Stuttgart, Germany to win his this third career title and second of the year.
Withstanding 16 aces by his opponent, Berrettini won 93 percent of his first serve points and broke serve on one occasion during the one hour and 47 minute encounter.
Never facing Auger-Aliassime on Tour, Berrettini previously won the title in Budapest earlier this year and in Gstaad in the Summer of 2018.
Auger-Aliassime, who was playing in his third final of the season, was also playing in his first career grass-court event. Currently ranked No. 21 in the world, Auger-Aliassime previously made the finals in Rio and Lyon earlier this year.

Frenchman Adrian Mannarino won his first career title on Sunday on s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands, dismissing Jordan Thompson 7-6(7), 6-3.
Defeating No. 2 seed Borna Coric earlier in the day, Mannarino needed two hours and one minute to claim his maiden tour crown. Striking four aces and winning 70 percent of his first serve points, Mannnario broke on two occasions, while losing his delivery once.
Previously losing six finals on Tour, Mannarino is currently ranked No. 44 in the world. The Frenchman will move up approximately 12 spots to No. 32 when Monday’s rankings are released.
Thompson, who was playing in his first career final, is currently ranked No. 62 in the world.
