Sinner, Sabalenka Look to Repeat, Three-Peat
The world No. 1’s will continue to be the favourites on the hard-courts of Australia.
Known for his long leavers and extreme power, Jannik Sinner will be odds makers favourite to collect his third Major title. The Italian will have to get through a tough field however, which will include Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev and Taylor Fritz.
Dark-horses on the men’s side will include Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, Holger Rune, Jakub Mensik and Juncheng Shang.
On the women’s side Aryna Sabalenka will have a three-peat at the Australian Open in mind, after she defeated Qinwen Zheng for her second straight title last year.
Other formidable player in the women’s field will include Iga Swiatek, Naomi Osaka, Elena Rybakina, Barbora Krejcikova, Victoria Azarenka, Bianca Andresscu, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Jasmine Paolini and Emma Navvaro.
Dark-horses in the women’s event will be highlighted by Karolina Muchova, Amanda Anisamova and Elina Svitolina.
