Nadal, who has been out of action since January, announced that this could very well be his last event in Barcelona. The legendary Spaniard has won in Barcelona on 12 occasions.
If he is to prevail on Tuesday, Nadal would face inform Australian Alex de Minuar in the second round. Looking forward, Arthur Fils, Casper Ruud and Rublev are in Nadal’s half of the draw.
This week’s events will feature six clay-court events to continue the road to Roland Garros. Rafael Nadal will return to action in Barcelona, and will be joined by Rublev and Stefanos Tsitsipas.
