Shelton, Tiafoe Return to Atlanta
The hard-courts in North America kick off this week in Atlanta, Georgia, featuring American stars Ben Shelton and Frances Tiafoe.
Shelton, who made the semifinals of the US Open in 2023, is perhaps the greatest hope for a title in New York amongst all the top players from the USA. The 21-year-old is currently ranked No. 14 in the world and owns two ATP Tour titles.
Tiafoe, who reached the final four in NYC in 2022, has had an up-and-down season. The 26-year-old has won three titles during his nine year career.
Ruud, Thiem Highlight Kitzbuhel Event
Making the most of the extended clay-court season, Casper Ruud and hometown hero Dominic Thiem return to the 250 level event the week.
Ruud, who is one of the best clay-court players in the work, currently stands at No. 9 on the computer. The 25-year-old is a three-time Major finalist.
Thiem, who is playing in the last year of his career, has won the title in Kitzbuhel in 2019. Thiem’s year-to-date record stands at 2-6. He has won 17 career titles, headlined by a 2020 US Open victory.
