ABN AMRO Open—Netherlands

Alcaraz Wins Rotterdam Title; Potapova Claims Cluj-Napoca Crown

Top seed Carlos Alcaraz claimed his 17th career title and first indoors on Sunday at the ABN AMRO Open in the Netherlands, defeating No. 3 seed Alex de Minaur 6-4, 3-6, 6-2.

Needing one hour and 54 minutes to seal his victory, Alcaraz hit two aces, won 67 percent of his first serve points and broke his Australian opponent on four occasions.

The Spaniard’s victory will provide 500 points to his Tour ranking as he aims to chase both Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. He also improved to 3-0 against de Minaur in lifetime meetings.

The 21-year-old also defeated No. 8 seed Hubert Hurkacz in the semifinals.

De Minaur was looking to capture his 10th career title. The 25-year-old is currently ranked No. 6 in the world.

The No. 3 seed defeated up-and-coming Czech player Jakub Mensik earlier in the week.

Transylvania Open—Cluj-Napoca, Romania

Top seed Anastasia Potapova won her third career title at the Transylvania Open in Cluj-Napoca, Romania on Sunday, defeating Lucia Bronzetti 4-6, 6-1, 6-2.

In a match that lasted two hours and two minutes, Potapova used her clean hitting from the baseline to break serve on five occasions, win 71 percent of her first serve points and hit five aces.

The Russian, who will move up to No. 31 on Monday, will next see action at the 1000 event in Doha, Qatar.

Bronzetti, who was looking to win her second career title, defeated No. 3 seed Peyton Stearns, No. 7 seed Elisabetta Cocciaretto and former world No. 1 Simona Halep earlier in the event.

Halep played her final career match against Bronzetti before retiring from the sport.
