Talented Italian Lorenzo Musetti stunned top seed Carlos Alcaraz on Sunday to win the Hamburg Open title in Germany. Needing six match points to prevail, Musetti recorded his victory with a 6-4, 6-7(6), 6-4 scoreline in two hours and 47 minutes.
Capturing his first-career title at the ATP Tour 500 level event, Musetti will be ranked No. 31 in the world on Monday.
Serving for the match at 5-4 in the second set and then leading 6-3 in the tiebreaker, Musetti had to overcome a rollercoaster of emotions to seal his victory.
Alcaraz, who was looking to notch his fifth title of the year, looked liked he was in the drivers seat after he won the second set. However, Musetti had other ideas and stayed mentally composed throughout the duration of the third set.
Alcaraz will move up to No. 5 in the world on Monday.

EFG Swiss Open Gstaad—Gstaad, Switzerland
Top seed Casper Ruud defended his title on Sunday in Gstadd, Switzerland, defeating No. 2 seed Matteo Berrettini 4-6, 7-6(4), 6-2.
Needing two hours and 34 minutes to seal his victory, Ruud overcame 10 aces from his opponent, poured in eight aces of his own, won 80 percent of his first serve points and broke serve on two occasions.
Improving his head-to-head against Berrettini to 3-2 in lifetime meetings, Ruud now owns nine career titles. Reaching the finals of the French Open and Miami Open earlier this year, Ruud is now ranked No. 6 in the world.
Berrettini, who was looking to win his third straight title on Tour, fell to seven victories in 11 finals.
The Italian will be ranked No. 14 in the world on Monday.
