World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz defended his Barcelona Open title on Sunday in Spain, ousting No. 2 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-3, 6-4.
Needing one hour and 19 minutes to claim his title, Alcaraz struck three aces, won 81 percent of his first serve points and broke serve on three occasions.
Improving to 23-2 on the year, Alcaraz will next head to the Mutua Madrid Open in Spain as the defending champion.
Tsitsipas, who was looking to win his 10th career title, reached the finals of the Australian Open in January.

Young Dane Holger Rune defended his BMW Open title on Sunday in Munich, Germany, defeating No. 4 seed Botic Van De Zandschulp 6-4, 1-6, 7-6(3).
In a match that lasted two hours and 52 minutes, Rune used his powerful ground game to save four match points. Winning the title last year over Van De Zandschulp after the Dutchman was forced to retire, Rune now owns four career titles.
Rune will next see action at the Madrid Open in Spain.
Van De Zandschulp, who was looking to win his first-career title, defeated No. 2 seed Taylor Fritz in the semifinals.
Rune will be ranked No. 7 in the world on Monday.

Srpska Open—Banja Luka, Bosnia & Herzegovina
Dusan Lajovic won his second career title on Sunday at the Banja Luka, Bosnia & Herzegovina, upsetting Second seed Andrey Rublev 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.
Previously reaching the finals of the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters in 2019, Lajovic defeated top seed Novak Djokovic earlier in the week. The 32-year-old won his other ATP Tour title in Umag, Croatia in 2019.
Rublev, who won in Monaco last week, was aiming to win his 14th career title.
