Alcaraz Improves to 2-0 at 2025 ATP Finals; Defeats Fritz
Tuesday’s results at the ATP Finals final in Turin, Italy saw reigning French Open and US Open champion Carlos Alcaraz improve to 2-0 in the Group Stages, defeating former US Open finalist Taylor Fritz 6-7(2), 7-5, 6-3.
Needing two hours and 48 minutes to prevail, Alcaraz hit 46 winners, nine aces, won 74 of his first serve points and broke his American opponent on three occasions.
Improving to 5-1 against Fritz in lifetime meetings, Alcaraz will next face Lorenzo Musetti for a perfect record heading into the semifinals.
Fritz defeated Musetti yesterday during the day session.
Musetti will return later today to face No. 7 seed Alex de Minaur.
On Wednesday, Group Stage matches continue with No. 5 seed Ben Shelton facing No. 8 seed Felix Auger-Aliassime and No. 2 seed Jannik Sinner taking on No. 3 seed Alexander Zverev in the day’s marquee match up.
On Monday, Sinner defeated Auger-Aliassime in straight sets, and Fritz took out Musetti in two sets.
Sinner and Alcaraz are both vying to claim the title as world No. 1 at the end of the event.
