Friday’s action at the ATP Finals in Turin, Italy saw world No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz defeat former winner Daniil Medvedev to reach the semifinals.
Regarding a 6-4, 6-4 scoreline, Alcaraz needed one hour and 20 minutes to record his victory.
Striking 22 winners and hitting three aces, Alcaraz improved to 3-2 against Medvedev in lifetime meetings.
The Spaniard joins Medvedev, Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner in Saturday’s semifinals.
Elsewhere, the night session featured Alexander Zverev picking up his second win at the event over No. 5 seed Andrey Rublev.
The 26-year-old earned a 6-4, 6-4 victory over his good friend.
Saturday’s semifinals will be highlighted by Djokovic vs. Alcaraz and Medvedev taking on Sinner.
