Alcaraz Cruises into Wimbledon Quarterfinals
Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz moved into the quarterfinals of The Championships on Sunday, dispatching Frenchman Ugo Humbert 6-3, 6-4, 1-6, 7-5.
In a match that lasted three hours, Alcaraz overcame an inspired opponent to strike 14 aces, win 66 percent of his first serve point and brake the serve on six occasions.
The 21-year-old phenom will next face either No. 12 seed Tommy Pau or Roberto Bautista Agutl for a place in the semifinals.
Alcaraz owns three career Majors and is currently ranked No. 4 in the world. He recently won his first French Open title in Paris, France last month over German Alexander Zverev.
Matches that are still to come on Sunday will include top seed Jannik Sinner vs. No. 14 seed Ben Shelton and No. 5 seed Daniil Medvedev vs. No. 10 Grigor Dimitrov.

Paolini Continues to Thrive on Tour
French Open finalist Jasmine Paolini continued to prove that her consistent baseline game and speedy footwork can transcend to all surfaces.
Needing all of her crafty groundstrokes to advance to the quarterfinals on Sunday, Paolini ousted American Madison Keys 6-3, 6-7(6), 5-5 retire.
The diminutive Italian hit 26 winners, won 60 percent of her first serve points and broke her opponent on seven occasions.
Paolini will next face No. 2 seed Coco Gauff or No. 19 seed Emma Navarro for a place in semifinals.
Other matches that are still to come on Sunday will include Emma Raducanu vs. Lulu Sun and Paula Badosa vs. Donna Vekic.
Monday’s schedule at Wimbledon will see seventh-time winner Novak Djokovic, Elena Rybakina and Alexander Zverev.
