adidas by Stella McCartney Barricade Unveils New2017 Australian Open Collection

Herzogenaurach, Germany 1st January: adidas by Stella McCartney Barricade SS17 has today unveiled its Australian Open collection; a fusion of bold, feminine style and leading performance technologies. The range will be debuted on the court by two of the biggest names in women’s tennis – Garbiñe Muguruza and Caroline Wozniacki – as they return from winter training for 2017’s first Grand Slam.

In line with the Australian Open’s fun and vibrant identity, the collection reimagines primary colours with a bi-colour seamless knit design to create fresh, bold shades which stand out on the court. The range’s classic feminine silhouettes are given a modern twist with laser cut detail.

World number seven and reigning Roland Garros champion Garbiñe Muguruza will debut the new adidas by Stella McCartney Barricade dress in hypergreen and white. The elegant and lightweight dress is crafted using high quality fabric, providing a perfect slim fit for the athlete. The inclusion of Clima™ technologies and seamless structures with mesh cut out details, offers comfort and breathability in Melbourne’s heat.

Garbiñe Muguruza will also wear the flexible and supportive adidas by Stella McCartney Barricade footwear, designed specifically for women and available in bold orange, red and white.

Garbiñe Muguruza comments: “2016 was my most successful year on the court and I am looking forward to building on my achievements from last year – starting in Melbourne. I am really excited to wear the dress at the Australian Open; I love the design and the fit flattering. Wearing the adidas by Stella McCartney Barricade line, I can step onto court ready to compete and also look my best in Australia’s summer heat.”

Caroline Wozniacki will wear the adidas by Stella McCartney Barricade tank in vibrant hypergreen and bold blue alongside the matching skirt in bold blue and white. She will also be wearing the adidas by Stella McCartney Barricade Boost 2017 shoe, which features BOOST technology to help athletes unleash energy on the court. The shoe is crafted from premium materials and provides the ultimate comfort and technical excellence within a beautiful design.

Caroline Wozniacki says: “BOOST is something you need to feel to believe; my game is more energised and I’m lighter and faster on my feet.”

The 2017 adidas by Stella McCartney Barricade Australian Open collection is available from 1st January 2017 at TennisWarehouse.com and TennisWarehouse-Europe.com.
