Sabalenka and Rybakina are top seeds in Toronto, Zverev and Auger-Aliassime lead field at 2026 National Bank Open
• With a 96-player main draw, 32 seeded players will benefit from a first-round bye
• Canadians Leylah Annie Fernandez and Félix Auger-Aliassime among the seeds
[TORONTO, ON] July 27, 2026 – Tennis Canada today confirmed the list of seeded players for the 2026 National Bank Open presented by Rogers (NBO). Four-time Grand Slam champion Aryna Sabalenka is the top seed for the WTA event in Toronto, while Germany’s Alexander Zverev, 2026 Roland-Garros champion, leads the list for the ATP tournament in Montreal. Seedings are based on the official WTA and ATP rankings as of Monday, July 27, with the top 32 players in each draw receiving first-round byes.

In Toronto, Sabalenka will be the tournament’s top seed for the first time in her career. The two-time Australian Open and two-time US Open champion reached the semi-finals in Canada in 2021, her best result at the event. Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina, who has won two Grand Slam titles, including this year’s Australian Open, is seeded No. 2, while double NBO champion Jessica Pegula of the United States rounds out the Top 3. Canada’s Leylah Annie Fernandez will be seeded No. 30.
On the ATP side, 2017 NBO champion Zverev is enjoying the best season of his career after winning his first Grand Slam title at Roland-Garros and reaching the Wimbledon final. Félix Auger-Aliassime becomes the first Canadian since Bianca Andreescu in 2021 to be the No. 2 seed in Canada, having climbed to a career-high world No. 4 after reaching quarter-finals at Roland-Garros and Wimbledon. Australia’s Alex de Minaur, the No. 3 seed, will look to improve on his runner-up finish in Montreal in 2023.
