71 of the ATP Tour’s Top 72 Players to Compete at the 2026 National Bank Open in Montreal

[MONTRÉAL, QC], July 9, 2026 – On Thursday, Tennis Canada unveiled the player entry list for the 2026 National Bank Open presented by Rogers in Montréal. The field includes 71 of the ATP Tour’s top 72 players and two competitors entering the tournament with a protected ranking.
As IGA Stadium gets set to welcome the world’s best men’s players for the first time under the tournament’s expanded 12-day, 96-player main draw format, this year’s entry list delivers the strongest field in the event’s history.
Among the headliners is World No. 1 Jannik Sinner, who is undefeated in ATP Masters 1000 events this season. The 2023 National Bank Open champion will look to continue that run as he makes his fifth appearance in Canada. Joining him is 2017 National Bank Open champion Alexander Zverev (No. 3), who recently captured his first Grand Slam title at Roland-Garros. Quebec’s Félix Auger-Aliassime (No. 4), who became the winningest Canadian singles player in history in 2026, will also return for his ninth appearance on home soil as he looks to surpass his best result at the National Bank Open, a quarter-final showing in 2022. He enters the tournament on the heels of back-to-back quarter-final appearances at Roland-Garros and Wimbledon.
The main draw will also feature four former champions who have previously lifted the trophy in Canada: defending champion and World No. 5 Ben Shelton (No. 5); 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic (who won the National Bank Open in 2007, 2011, 2012 and 2016); Daniil Medvedev (2021); and Pablo Carreño Busta (2022).

Following the success of our first year under our new 12-day format, we are confident this edition will raise the bar even further, both in terms of the on-court competition and the experience we offer our fans. We can’t wait to see IGA Stadium filled once again and to witness many more unforgettable moments.”
The field also features several established stars including Australia’s Alex de Minaur (11 ATP titles), American Taylor Fritz (10 ATP titles including the 2022 Indian Wells title) and Andrey Rublev (2024 Madrid Open champion and a finalist in Montréal that same year). They will also be joined by several of the Tour’s brightest young stars, including 20-year-olds Learner Tien (No. 17) and Jakub Menšík (No. 18), who have each captured an ATP title this season; 19-year-old Spaniard Rafael Jodar (No.26), a quarterfinalist in Madrid, in Rome and at Roland-Garros this season; and 19-year-old Brazilian João Fonseca (No.27), who also reached the quarterfinals at Roland-Garros and the Monte-Carlo Masters in 2026.
For the complete player entry list, click here.Gabriel Diallo receives a main draw wild card After announcing on July 3 that Frenchman Gaël Monfils had received the first main draw wild card, Tennis Canada also confirmed that Québec’s Gabriel Diallo (Montréal, QC) has been granted a wild card into the main draw. Diallo, currently ranked No.88, recently got as far as the quarterfinals of the ATP 250 event in Eastbourne and the second round at Wimbledon. Making his fifth career appearance at the Montréal event, he will join fellow Canadians Auger-Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov (No.41) directly in the main draw.
“I’m really grateful to have received a main draw wild card,” said Diallo. “The opportunity to compete at home is a privilege you never take for granted, and there aren’t many feelings that compare to playing a match in Canada. The atmosphere in Montréal is incredible. The fans here are among the best in the world. They give us extra energy on court, and it’s always a very special feeling to have their support. I can’t wait to experience it again.”

• The NBO will begin with one day of qualifying on Saturday, August 1. The main draw matches will be played from Sunday, August 2 to Thursday, August 13.
• The top 32 seeds will receive first-round byes. They will begin their campaigns on either Tuesday, August 4 or Wednesday, August 5.
• Three additional main draw wild cards will be announced at a later date, including the one awarded to the winner of the Road to the NBO, a Canadian competition that supports the nation’s young talent.

• The WTA draw ceremony in Toronto is scheduled for noon ET and will be streamed live on the tournament’s platforms.
• In Montréal, the ATP draw ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. at National Bank’s head office and will also be streamed live on the tournament’s platforms.
• Additional activities are organized throughout the tournament as the NBO transforms into Our Tennis Playground. Highlights include the traditional IGA Family Weekend in association with Énergir, LEGO Canada and Nintendo, CELSIUS TennisFest Weekend, an enhanced fan zone featuring several new interactive games, and a special new culinary experience: OBN à table in collaboration with Chef John Mike.
