2025 Nitto ATP Finals: Draw Preview

Turin set to host the season’s showpiece event

The year-end pinnacle of the men’s tour, the 2025 Nitto ATP Finals, returns to Turin from 9-16 November at the Pala Alpitour.

Only eight of the world’s finest singles players and eight doubles teams earn a place, making every match intensely competitive.

With the draw set to be revealed on 6 November, the field is almost complete and the stage is set for high-stakes drama.

Qualified stars and looming rivals

Four singles players have secured their spots already:

  • Carlos Alcaraz – the first to clinch qualification this season.

  • Jannik Sinner – defending champion and current world No.2.

  • Novak Djokovic – closing in on yet another year-end finals appearance.

  • Alexander Zverev – booked his place recently and brings prior finals experience.

Meanwhile, the race for the remaining four spots is fierce. Players such as Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton, Alex de Minaur and Lorenzo Musetti are all in contention.

Format and draw mechanics

The tournament features:

  • Two round-robin groups of four in singles (and similarly for doubles).

  • Each player in a group plays the other three; top two in each group advance to the semi-finals.

  • Matches are best-of-three (singles) and the surface is indoor hard court.

  • With the draw looming, group compositions will play a key role in match-ups and strategy.

What to watch in the draw

Here are a few themes that will shape the draw and eventual outcome:

  • Group of death possibility: With the full field yet to be finalized, there is potential for one group to stack up with multiple heavyweights. How seeding and placement fall will matter.

  • Indoor dominance: Players who excel on indoor hard courts often fare better here—expect names with strong indoor form to stake a claim.

  • Fresh versus fatigue: Some players will arrive with momentum, others with physical toll from a long season. The draw can reward those who find timing and rest.

  • Early match-ups that matter: In a small field, each round-robin match has outsized importance. Coming out of the gate strong can mean the difference between semi-final qualification or watching from home.

  • Qualification drama off-court still matters: Because not all spots are locked yet, players entering the draw may come with extra pressure from behind in the rankings. That adds an extra dimension to even group-stage contests.

Prediction and outlook

  • Alcaraz and Sinner enter as the favourites given their form and consistency.

  • Djokovic, always dangerous in big events, cannot be discounted despite a long season.

  • Zverev will aim to draw on his past Finals success and impose his experience.

  • The other qualifiers will seek breakthroughs—this format rewards players who seize early wins.

  • Strategy and stamina may be as important as skill: A gruelling group-stage opener could tilt the balance.

Final thoughts

The 2025 Nitto ATP Finals represent more than just an event—they’re the season’s final mission for the elite. The draw on 6 November will set the path for the next week’s high-octane battles in Turin. For fans, analysts and players alike, every detail matters: the placement of players, the match-ups from day one, the indoor setting—and the looming prestige of being crowned year-end champion.

Stay tuned as we break down the groups once the draw emerges, and preview key sessions, match-ups and dark-horses.
