Rolex and Tennis: Charting the Course of Achievement in 2025

Geneva, 25 February 2025 – Rolex’s association with tennis began almost 50 years ago, when its clocks first graced the courts of The Championships, Wimbledon, in 1978. Since this milestone moment, the Swiss watchmaker has continued its support of the professional game, forging partnerships with the leading tournaments and players, who continue to set the highest of standards for future generations. Today, as Official Timekeeper of all four Grand Slam® tournaments, the Rolex crown has become synonymous with tennis and the journey to achievement within the sport.

Following last month’s Australian Open, which launched Rolex’s 2025 tennis calendar, the competition now shifts to the American hard courts of Indian Wells and Miami, where the Rolex Testimonees will have their sights on the illusive Sunshine Double. All eyes will then turn to the European clay-court season which culminates in Roland-Garros, taking place from 25 May to 8 June. Having claimed the last three women’s singles titles at the tournament, Iga ?wi?tek will attempt to further cement herself as the most formidable force on the surface by winning her fourth successive Roland-Garros, and fifth overall.

This summer, reigning Roland-Garros and Wimbledon men’s singles champion, Carlos Alcaraz, will strive to defend his sensational double. As is tradition, the four-time Grand Slam® winner will begin his Wimbledon title defence on Centre Court on Monday 30 June, looking to join his fellow Rolex Testimonees Björn Borg and Roger Federer in securing three consecutive Wimbledon titles. The sport then returns to Canada and US soil for the North American swing, where the Swiss watchmaker’s brightest stars will be among those competing for hard court supremacy. This crucial period sees two Rolex-partnered ATP Masters 1000 and WTA 1000 events play out, before both tours descend upon Flushing Meadows for the US Open, where Jannik Sinner will set out to defend his title. Serving as the finale to the Grand Slam® season, the tournament is known for its electric atmosphere, with the 2025 edition taking place from 24 August to 7 September.

Rolex’s support for tennis extends to the apex of the season, as its Testimonees take centre stage, in pursuit of the year-end World No. 1 crown. From individual contests such as the season-ending Nitto ATP Finals and WTA Finals, to team competitions including the Laver Cup and the Davis Cup, Rolex champions the relentless dedication, perseverance and precision of these sportsmen and women in their quest to lift the coveted trophies.
