This year’s tournament will feature 96 player draws for both men and women and 1000 points available for each winner.
Alcaraz Goes for Three-Peat
Five-time former winner Novak Djokovic returns to Indian Wells in hopes of title number six. Still without a Tour title since November of 2023, Djokovic will be adamant on playing his best in the desert.
Four-time Major winner Carlos Alcaraz will be striving for his third-straight title in Indian Wells.
The flamboyant Spaniard will headline the 96-player field, which will also include Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz, Alex de Minaur, Casper Ruud, and last year’s finalist Daniil Medvedev.
Brazilian sensation Joao Fonesca will be a player to watch during this year’s event.
Top ranked 1 Jannik Sinner, who is sidelined with a doping suspension, will leave the door open for either Zverev or Alcaraz to overtake the top spot in the world.
This year’s event (including the qualifying draw) will take place from March 2nd – 16th and the Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, California.
The Palm Springs Fans are Ready for Sabalenka and Swiatek
Defending champion and two-time winner Iga Swiatek returns to Palm Springs ready to springboard her season. Historically the Pole has played well in Indian Wells, and that has provided a confidence boost as she heads into her favourite part of the season on the clay in Europe.
World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka will be ready to take the title as well, and will make it difficult for Swiatek to win a third title.
Other contenders to the title will include Coco Gauff, Jasmine Paolini, Jessica Pegula, Madison Keys, Elena Rybakina, Qinwen Zheng, Emma Navvaro and Paula Badosa.
Women’s first round action will begin on Wednesday March 5, 2025.
