New Tournament Schedule Announced for 2025 Cincinnati Open

CINCINNATI (February 5, 2025) – The 2025 edition of the Cincinnati Open will be the largest in the tournament’s history, with more players, matches, days of competition and entertainment planned for the event’s transformed venue.

The tournament will take place over 14 days – up from nine – to account for the men’s and women’s singles fields growing from 56 to 96 players. The two-week Cincinnati Open will be held Tuesday, Aug. 5 through Monday, Aug. 18 and will increase from 16 to 24 sessions. The growth of the tournament will be on full display at the expanded and enhanced Lindner Family Tennis Center, which is doubling in size ahead of the 2025 event through offseason construction.

“We view the growth of the Cincinnati Open as a true transformation of the event that will elevate the experience for our fans, players and partners,” said Tournament Director Bob Moran. “The added days will help players compete at their peak due to additional rest between matches and will give our fans more opportunities to see the world’s top tennis talent in more matches, practices and special experiences across more days on-site.”

Here’s an overview of what the new, expanded tournament format means:

  • Qualifying rounds will be played on Tuesday, Aug. 5 and Wednesday, Aug. 6, featuring 48 players in both men’s and women’s fields. Twelve men and women will advance to the main draw.
  • Main draw play will begin Thursday, Aug. 7. There will be 32 seeded players in the men’s and women’s draws, each with a first-round bye. The top-ranked players in the tournament will take to the courts during the first weekend of play, Aug. 9 and 10, during the second round.
  • Men’s and women’s quarterfinals will round out the middle of the Cincinnati Open on Thursday, Aug. 14 and Friday, Aug. 15. The men will split the quarterfinals over both days while the women play all matches on Aug. 15.
  • The final days of the tournament will feature the men’s semifinal matches on Saturday, Aug. 16, and the women’s semifinals on Sunday, Aug. 17. Both singles championship matches will be played on Monday, Aug. 18.
  • The doubles events will have staggered starts, with women’s doubles beginning Thursday, Aug 7, and men’s doubles on Monday, Aug 11. Both doubles finals will be played on Sunday, Aug 17.
