Berrettini Continues Tour Renaissance with Kitzbuhel Victory
Former world No. 6 Matteo Berrettini continued his surge up the rankings with a first round victory in Kitzbuhel, Austria on Tuesday.
Defeating Pavel Kotov 7-6(8), 7-6(5), Berrettini improved to 17-5 on the season and will next face No. 2 Alejandro Tabilo for a place in the quarterfinals.
Berrettini is currently up to No. 49 in the latest rankings and will undoubtedly have the goal of reaching a seeded position at the 2025 Australian Open.
The Italian star is joined in the second round by Lukas Neumayer, Roberto Carballes Baena, Facundo Diaz Acosta, Daniel Elahi Galan and Hugo Gaston.

Atlanta Open—GA, U.S.A.
Tuesday’s action at the Atlanta Open in Georgia featured Arthur Rinderknech and Aslan Karatsev advancing to the second round.
Rinderknech defeated J.J. Wolf 6-3, 6-2, and Karatsev dismissed Billy Harris 6-2, 6-2.
Still to come on Tuesday, Brandan Nakashima, Reilly Opelka and Borna Coric will all be in action.

Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag—Croatia
Former Monte Carlo Masters champion Fabio Fognini advanced to the second round in Umag, Croatia on Tuesday, defeating Luca Van Assche 6-4, 6-3.
Fognini, who is in the twilight of his career, is currently ranked No. 70 in the world. Ranked as high of No. 9 on the ATP Tour, Fognini owns nine career titles and has amassed over 18 million in prize money.
The Italian will next face Chun-Hsin Tseng for a quarterfinal birth.
Still to come on Tuesday, top seed Andrey Rublev will look for some much-needed form against Camilo Ugo Carabelli and Luciano Darderi will face Bastad semifinalist Duje Ajdukovic.
Rublev is currently on a four-match losing streak. The 26-year-old Russian does own two titles on the season, winning in Hong Kong, China to start the year and then capturing his second Masters 1000 title in Madrid, Spain during the clay-court season.
