Defending Champion Tiafoe Advances in Stuttgart
Defending Stuttgart champion Frances Tiafoe reached the quarterfinals of the event on Wednesday, defeating Yannick Hanfmann 7-5, 7-6(5).
Tiafoe, who has been struggling with form all season long, will next face either Jack Draper or Marcus Giron.
Elsewhere, No. 5 seed Lorenzo Musetti ousted Dominik Koepfer 6-7(9), 7-6(5), 6-3.
Osaka, Andreescu Reach Libema Open Quarterfinals
Fan favourites Naomi Osaka and Bianca Andresscu continued their winning ways on Wednesday in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands, defeating Suzan Lamens and Yue Yuan, respectively.
The pair will face off in the final eight next for a place in the semifinals.
On the men’s side, No. 5 seed Adrian Mannarino was dismissed by Gijs Brouwer 6-3, 6-3. Mannarino is a former winner of the event, taking the title in 2019.
Thursday’s action in the Netherlands will feature Denis Shapovalov taking on Wimbledon finalist Matteo Berrettini.
