The incredible run of form for Novak Djokovic continues, as he draws ever nearer to the all-time standings for the most Grand slams for a single Men’s tennis player. This would ultimately mean he would go down as the greatest ever and there is little doubt that he must enter this conversation now, based on his continued dominance of the game. The big question is whether he is now on track for further Grand slam titles this season, with Wimbledon no doubt his main aim.
At present he is the overwhelming favourite for the Wimbledon title and Illinois sports wagerers are even hoping to be able to get involved and support him, as it appears they are edging closer to this becoming legalized, as we see in many other states. Looking at the market and it really is little surprise that Djokovic is so short in the betting, looking at his form in the last few seasons at these major tournaments and how he really does appear head and shoulders above the rest. He recently appeared to be heading out of the Australian Open and was struggling in the early period of the tournament but found another level and dominated the latter period, also winning the final in straight sets and barely dropping a game in the process. It also meant an incredible ninth Australian Open title for Djokovic.

Heading into Wimbledon, it will of course be the first event since back in 2019, as it had to be cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic. Djokovic is a five time winner of Wimbledon and also won the event in both 2018 and 2019, so enters as the two-time defending champion, further backing up why he is such short odds for the title in London. Anticipation is now building further ahead of the tournament and surely Djokovic is on course for another Grand slam title, which will mean he draws ever nearing to the record held by both Nadal and Federer at present. Each will also likely be heading into the tournament and themselves looking to extend on their records, with Nadal also the overwhelming favourite to add yet another French Open title this year.
