Top seed Roger Federer won his seventh title of the year and 95th career title overall at the Swiss Indoors in Basel, Switzerland on Sunday, defeating No. 4 seed Juan Martin del Potro 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-3. In an up-and-down affair which lasted two hours and 32 minutes, Federer served for the first set before del Potro broke back in the 10th game. After losing the first set, Federer continued to weather the storm before forcing a decider. With everything to play for, Federer raced to a 4-1 third set lead and never looked back. Improving to 18-6 against del Potro in lifetime meetings, Federer will now set his sights on bridging the gap to the No. 1 ranking in the world at the Paris Masters next week against Rafa Nadal.
Del Potro, who was in search of his 21st career title, still has an outside chance of reaching the ATP World Tour Finals in London, England. The Argentine currently stands in 11th place.

Erste Bank Open 500—Vienna, Austria
Lucas Pouille won a battle of Frenchmen in Vienna, Austria on Sunday, defeating No. 8 seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-1, 6-4. Equaling his ace count with Tsonga at three for the match, Pouille won 64 percent of his second serve points, broke serve on three occasions and never lost his own delivery.
Winning the biggest title of his career, Pouille also won on the grass in Stuttgart and the clay of Budapest earlier in 2017.
Tsonga, who claimed the title in Antwerp, Belgium last week, still remains in the hunt for a place in the ATP World Tour Finals in London, England. Both Pouille and Tsonga will next set their sights on competing at the Rolex Paris Masters in France next week.
