As always, you can alternatively listen to the #1 tennis PodCast via iTunes and never miss another episode. It is very easy and completely free.
I think Nadal has a mental block when it comes to this tournament. Regardless of his season, he doesn’t believe he can win this tournament because it’s on indoor hard.
Going back to NY would be a retrograde step, imo. If the tournament moves it needs to go to a new place but I’m not sure Rio would sell out. Istanbul might be good place given it has experience hosting the WTA Finals and had sell out crowds for the 3 years it was held there.
I would have loved to hear some discussion of the doubles tournament.
Great point, Amy Bee. As Rafa showed in this event, he still has some work to do regarding winning the title. I think he did show a good level of play this Fall overall.
Perhaps you’re right regarding the WTF being held in NYC, but I still think the market is strong enough to pull off a successful event. We shall see.
