Australian Lleyton Hewitt won the 29th title of his career in Brisbane, Australia on Sunday, defeating top seed Roger Federer 6-1, 4-6, 6-3. After breezing through the first set in 28 minutes, Hewitt saw a more aggressive Federer in latter stages of the second set. Tied at one set all, Hewitt’s pin-point serving and his deep return-of-serve helped gain the only break throughout the third set. Federer, who was aiming to win his first title in Brisbane, caputred one ATP World Tour title in 2013.

Top seed Stanislas Wawrinka captured the title in Chennai, India on Sunday, upending Frenchman Eduoard Roger-Vasselin 7-5, 6-2. Needing one hour and 36 minutes to seal his victory, Wawrinka took home his fifth career title and 250 ATP World Tour points. The 28-year-old will hope to continue his rich vein of form at the Australian Open next week.
