5 Favorite US-Open Golf Champions in 2019

Golf fanatics globally had all eyes turned to one major event. Recently, all attention was at Pebble Beach in California, USA, where professional golfers around the world took time to participate in the open competition. Golf’s history was re-written; there also emerged bookmakers’ favorites. They include:

  1. Brooks Koepka

The 29-year-old professional golf player defended his PGA championship successfully recently. He later found himself among dominated golf stretches in golf sports over 20 years. Brooks had odds of 8/1 on betting sites such as Sportwetten Lapalingo. He currently ranked at the top as he’s among the hottest leading streaks of recent times. He is a 2-time reigning champion. This year’s open was his shot at being the only 2nd player to emerge a champion in the competition, three consecutive times, as well as the 1st to do it over 100 years, had it not been for Gary Woodland who emerged victoriously. Gary concluded with a 13-under par in the championship. However, Koepka came second scoring 10-under par.

  1. Dustin Johnson

He ranked 2nd having 8/1 odds among gambling agencies. He won the US Open finish back in 2016. He also had emerged victorious at the WGC-Mexico championship. He was a favorite because he had won back to back AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Ams back in 2009 as well as 2010. He later posted 71-70-60 while taking a 3-shot lead against Graeme McDowell into the last round in the 2019 USA Open. This alone proved he could win at the open.

  1. Rory McIlroy

Rory came 3rd among golf gamblers having emerged top in 2011. He had a robust dominating victory in Canadian Opens before the Pebble Open. He had come so close to making a historic 59, shooting in the last round, and this could have made a seven strokes win in golf. He’s among the hottest professionals at Pebble’s golf field.

  1. Justin Rose

Justin ranked fourth in major betting sites, having won the US open finish in 2013. He had 20/1 odds. He played the beginning two rounds alongside Jordan Spieth as well as Tiger Woods. The group was the most enticing. Rose had topped the all-round golfing game. There has been a huge let-down when he missed the cut at the Masters as well as a T-29 at the PGA. However, there was a ray of hope when he won at Torrey Pines back in January to reclaim a spot in the golf’s sports ranks.

  1. Tiger Woods

Woods looked forward to reclaiming the Open title for the 1st time since 2008. However, he had won such a tournament in 2000 where he had a winning by 15 upon earning the championship trophy at Pebble beach. He played at Pebble four times and had his last appearance in 2013. Punters didn’t doubt his ability to come back up. However, a major setback was that he didn’t have a US open top-2 from 2010. He had struggled with driving accuracy in the following years and at Bethpage.

Conclusion

The game took a significant turn as some major talent was displayed in the field. Betting sites such as Sportwetten Lapalingo offered a chance for punters to walk away as millionaires with the right prediction.

We look forward to the next major USA open-golf competition at Winged Foot Golf’s Club in 2020.
