Striking five aces and winning 74 percent of his first serve points, Rublev broke serve on six occasions.
Improving to 2-1 against Rune in lifetime meetings, Rublev will be ranked No. 6 on Monday.
Rune, who was aiming to win his second Masters 1000 title, will be ranked No. 7 when the latest rankings are released.
