Djokovic, Sabalenka, Gauff and Rublev Reach Australian Open Quarterfinals

Top seed and 10-time winner Novak Djokovic advanced to the quarterfinals of the Australian Open on Sunday, blitzing past Adrian Mannarino 6-0, 6-0, 6-3.

The comprehensive victory lasted only one hour and 44 minutes and saw Djokovic hit 17 aces.

The Serb will next face No. 12 seed Taylor Fritz, who needed four sets to oust No. 7 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Elsewhere, No. 4 seed Jannik Sinner continued his fine form by rolling past No. 15 seed Karen Khachanov in straight sets, and No. 5 seed Andrey Rublev was pushed to five sets before advancing against local hero and No. 10 seed Alex de Minaur.

On the women’s side, No. 2 seed Aryna Sabalenka eased past Amanda Anisamova in straight sets and will next face Barbora Krejcikova.

Krejcikova ended the hopes of youngster Mirra Andreeva later in the day.

Other women’s results included reigning US Open Coco Gauff advancing over Magdalena Frech, and Marta Kostyuk dismissing Maria Timofeeva 6-2, 6-1.

Gauff and Kostyuk will face off in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

Monday’s action in Melbourne will feature No. 2 seed Carlos Alcaraz, No. 12 seed Qinwen Zheng, No. 3 seed Daniil Medvedev and No. 18 seed Victoria Azarenka.
