World No. 5 Stefanos Tsitsipas defended his Rolex Monte Carlo title in easy fashion on Sunday, dismissing inform Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina 6-3, 7-6(3).

Capturing his eighth career crown, Tsitsipas overcame an early break deficit during the one hour and 36 minute match, and never looked back. Improving to 3-0 against Davidovich Fokina in lifetime meetings, Tsitsipas also improved to 22-7 on the season.

The former French Open finalist will next see action at the Barcelona Open in Spain next week.

Davidovich Fokina, who had a career week in Monaco, dispatched world No. 1 Novak Djokovic in second round and recent Indian Wells champion Taylor Fritz in the quarterfinals. The fiery Spaniard won a lot of fans this week and will be force on the clay this season.

The 22-year-old will move up to No. 27 in world on Monday. A jump of 19 places from the start of the week.
