Nadal-Shakira – Gypsy (Official Music Video)

The highly anticipated music video for Shakira’s new single Gypsy featuring Rafael Nadal was released today.
The racy video features Nadal and Shakira in many “interesting” poses, but was done in tasteful fashion.
Nadal seems to find comfort in front of the camera, while Shakira anticpates another blockbuster hit.

Rafael Nadal Training Videos Now Available

Rafael Nadal and his coach/uncle Toni have released an 8 set DVD that focuses on how Rafa trains. The videos will only be released in Spain for the time being. You can sample the videos here. (Note: I would avoid any Rafa knee exercises for obvious reasons).
Djokovic to Have Stadium Named After Him

As many of our readers already know, Novak Djokovic and his family own the ATP World Tour sanctioned event in Belgrade, Serbia.
It seems, however, that owning the event was not enough for the current world No.2. There are plans in the works for a brand new 37,398 square meter tennis complex in New Belgrade, which will include accompanying facilities such as a hotel, restaurants, and a shopping area. The proposed name for the main stadium? Well, of course Arena Djokovic.
Paes To Star In Bollywood Production

Reports from Hiranmoy Chatterjee, a secretary for the Bengal Tennis Association, say that Leander Paes is currently shooting a movie in a Bollywood Production. Paes’ father has confirmed his son’s acting interests, but has quickly dismissed his retirement from tennis. “He will take a final decision after weighing the pros and cons.”
Paes is best known for his doubles and mixed doubles results. He has won 11 Grand Slam titles.
Tennis Raises $700,000 For Haiti Relief

The tennis community has raised nearly $700,000 for the victims of the Haiti earthquake.
Tennis officials announced the figure tonight as the Australian Open drew to a close.
The world’s top players gathered for the Hit for Haiti on the eve of the Australian Open and drew a crowd of around 17,000 to Melbourne Park.
The event raised around $140,000 in gate receipts and public donations on the day.
Roger Federer and the world’s best players have raised more than $44,000 thus far.

Croatian Tennis Fan To Be Charged

The Croatian tennis fan that ran onto the court after the semi-final match between Andy Murray and Marin Cilic will face police charges.
The man jumped onto the court after the two players shook hands at the net, and although no one was hurt, the incident once again raised concern towards the overall safety of players.
The man, 22, from Melbourne, would be “charged on summons with disrupting proceedings and unauthorized entry to an arena,” a police spokesman said in a statement on Friday.
Players Continue Haiti Fundraising

The support for Haiti from the tennis community keeps growing as Roger Federer and other top players have created an auction of autographed rackets used in this year’s Australian Open. Roger’s racket has the highest bid with $13,300, while Rafa Nadal has gathered $4,150 for his frame. Other players donating sticks include Novak Djokovic, Kim Clijsters and Jelena Dokic. The auctions which opened Tuesday will close Sunday after the Australian Open men’s final.

The tennis community was quick to show support for the people that were devastated by the earthquake in Haiti.
Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams and many others participated in the “Hit for Haiti” event that raised over $185,000 for earthquake relief.
Other players, who made separate contributions included:
Maria Sharapova ($10,000), John Isner ($5,000) and Marcos Baghadits ($5,000).
