MTA students receive scholarships that cover (on average) up to 85% of the total fees, which equals to approximately $29,800 per year.
The best Universities continue to showcase a very high standard of tennis, which is very close to the standard of the professional tour. It recent times the likes of James Blake, Robby Ginepri, John Isner, and Steve Johnson have reached the top 25 or better on that professional Tour after attending US Universities.
Each University team awards a certain number of scholarships to its players. Players with a higher level of play will have a much better chance of receiving a University placement. For instance, based on the French System, a player would need a minimum ranking of 15 to realistically expect a substantial scholarship at the time of leaving the Academy.
What Else do they Need to be Eligible for a Scholarship?
– A player needs to be 17 years old or older
