TSN to broadcast Sport Chek Face-Off with Raonic and Roddick

Toronto, November 13, 2012 – Lagardere Unlimited and Tennis Canada announced Tuesday that TSN will be broadcasting the Sport Chek Face-Off live from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto on November 16 at 8 p.m. ET. Fans from across North America will be able to watch the tennis showcase featuring Canada’s No. 1 singles player Milos Raonic, former world No. 1 Andy Roddick, 15-time Slam champion Serena Williams, and world No. 4 Agnieszka Radwanska.
TSN’s live coverage will also be available on TSN Mobile TV. In addition to TSN’s coverage in Canada, the Sport Chek Face-Off will be available for viewing in the United States through the Tennis Channel’s cable broadcast and ESPN3’s broadband airing as well as in Latin America, the Caribbean, Brazil, the Middle East, Oceania, the United Kingdom, and Sub-Saharan Africa via ESPN’s international properties.
TSN’s Gord Miller will provide play-by-play commentary for both match-ups alongside analyst Daniel Nestor, Canadian tennis superstar currently No. 3 on the ATP World Tour doubles rankings, while TSN’s Mike Johnson will also be on-site reporting courtside.
An additional celebrity will be featured in the exhibition’s broadcast as well, as Mark Cohon is set to participate in the celebrity mixed doubles event alongside previously-announced celebrities George Stroumboulopoulos, Adrian Grenier and Bachelor star Brad Smith.
Cohon has been the Canadian Football League (CFL) commissioner since 2007, and in his time leading the organization the CFL has delivered strong attendance and television numbers, expanded corporate partnerships, and turned a focus to long-term plans. This month Cohon will helm the CFL’s 100th Grey Cup in Toronto. One of the most influential people in Canadian sport, Cohon also previously was an executive at Major League Baseball International (MLB) and the National Basketball Association (NBA).
In recognition of Cohon’s participation in the Sport Chek Face-Off and the CFL’s 100th Grey Cup being held in Toronto on Sunday, November 25, a special offer of 20% off select ticket prices will be extended to anyone wearing a CFL team jersey when purchasing tickets at the Air Canada Centre Ticket Office on event day.
The format for the evening is scheduled to consist of three components. Celebrity mixed doubles featuring all event participants will kick-off the evening at 7 p.m. ET. The main event will follow at 8 p.m. ET with a women’s singles match between Radwanska and Williams – a rematch of their thrilling 2012 Wimbledon final. Following women’s singles will be a showdown between Roddick and Raonic, two of tennis’ biggest hitters. The evening will be complemented with music and fan-interactive components emceed by Wayne Bryan, father of the Bryan Brothers (world’s No. 1 doubles team). Gates will open at 6 p.m. at the Air Canada Centre (format and order of play subject to change).
Tickets are on sale now, with great seats close to the action still available. Prices (incl.
