Djokovic wins third Beijing title over Tsonga

Top seed Novak Djokovic won his fourth hard-court title of 2012 in Beijing, China on Sunday, defeating No. 2 seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 7-6(4), 6-2.

Needing one hour and 42 minutes to prevail, Djokovic won 69 percent of his first serve points, hit one ace and broke his big-serving opponent on three occasions. Improving to 8-5 against Tsonga in lifetime meetings, Djokovic also improved on his year-to-date record on the season to 65-11.

Djokovic, who is attempting to finish the year ranked No. 1 in the world, will next head to Shanghai where he will face either Grigor Dimitrov or Pablo Andujar in the second-round.

Tsonga was attempting to win his third title of 2012. The Frenchman will now fly to Shanghai where he will take on either Benoit Paire or Philipp Petzchner in his first match.
