Video: Madrid Masters goes for blue clay

February 21, 2012 · Print This Article

This year’s lead up to Roland Garros will include a slightly different twist courtesy of the tournament organizers in Madrid. Opting for blue clay courts, Mutua Madrid Open consultant Ion Tiriac has released a first time video of what the surface at the Caja Mágica will look like come this spring.

One wonders what the likes Nadal, Djokovic and Federer will think of the blue clay surface, but there’s no doubt that the tournament will receive great worldwide publicity throughout the week.
