Almagro wins Brasil title

Top seed Nicolas Almagro captured his 11th career ATP World Tour title on Sunday, defeating Filippo Volandri, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.

Taking home his third career title in Brazil, Almagro fired 18 aces past his Italian opponent, in a match which lasted two hours and two minutes.

Winning at least one title on Tour each of the last seven years, Almagro is currently ranked No. 11 in the world. The Spaniard hit a career high of No. 9 in the world in May of 2011.
