Monaco wins title in Chile

VTR Open–Vina del Mar, Chile

Argentine Juan Monaco defeated countryman Carlos Berlocq 6-3, 6-7(1), 6-1 to capture his first title in five years at the VTR Open in Vina del Mar, Chile on Sunday.

Needing two hours and 46 minutes to prevail, Monaco saved eight of nine breaks points and won 69 percent of his second serve points.

Winning his fourth career title, Monaco improved to 4-0 against Berlocq in lifetime meetings.
