“I’ve been looking to add someone to my team and I’ve decided to spend some days with Paul Annacone. As Paul winds down his responsibilities working for the Lawn Tennis Association, we will explore our relationship through this test period. Paul will work alongside my existing team and I am excited to learn from his experiences.”

Returning to Switzerland after a family vacation to Italy, Federer will begin preparations this week for his upcoming summer schedule. The Swiss great will begin his US Open Series by traveling to Toronto, Canada, before heading to Cincinnati, Ohio.

Losing to Juan Martin del Potro in the finals of the US Open last year, Federer will be adamant on reaching his seventh US Open final in order uphold or improve on his current No. 3 ranking.

Good shout by Federer. He needs to do something, as he seems to have reached a plateau. Having just read Pete Sampras’ autobiog, he really had lots of positives to say on Annacone’s strategic thinking and 1:1 communication. El Fed needs a shake up- and that’s coming from a Rafa fan.

Got something to say?
