Tsonga Out of Rotterdam

World No. 9 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has withdrawn from the upcoming ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in the Netherlands because of a strained stomach muscle.
Reaching the semifinals of last month’s Australian Open, Tsonga’s hard-fought wins over Nicolas Almagro and Novak Djokovic were said to be contributing factors to his recent injury. Encountering a wrist injury to begin the year, Tsonga’s frail body maybe his greatest obstacle in reaching the higher ranks in the sport.
It is unknown at this time how long Tsonga will be out of action.
Countryman Gilles Simon had also withdrawn from the event due to a lingering knee injury.
The ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament is set to take place Feb. 8-14, 2010.
