Simon Out of Rotterdam

February 4, 2010 · Print This Article

Former top 10 player Gilles Simon continues to be sidelined after sustaining a right knee injury at last year’s US Open.

The 25-year-old’s latest withdrawal will take place from the Rotterdam event in the Netherlands.

Playing his last event at the Paris Masters 1000 (l. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga), Simon has yet to hit the court in 2010. Holding a career high of No. 6 in the world (May, 2009), Simon currently stands at the No. 16 position on Tour.

Possessing a very physically foot-work driven game, the Nice native will have to recover fully before he can resume Tour action.

The Rotterdam even is set to take place Feb. 8-14, 2010.
