Philippoussis Loses First Match in Comeback Attempt

February 3, 2010 · Print This Article

Former world No. 8 and Vegas native Mark Philippoussis lost in the first-round of a Challenger event in Dallas on Tuesday.

Currently not holding an ATP World Tour ranking, Philippoussis lost to No. 5 seed Michael Yani 6-4, 6-4. Battling a string up debilitating injuries, Philippoussis has been inactive on tour since 2006.

Holding a big serve and monster forehand, the former Wimbledon and US Open finalist was far from his best against his young American opponent.

Philippoussis had kept himself busy in recent times by staring in a reality TV show called Age of Love.

The 33-year-old’s upcoming schedule is not yet known.
